I help writers shape and refine their stories for publication. I’ve spent many years in the world of words, learning and practising the craft of editing and writing. Reading, writing and lifelong learning have shaped how I work with writers to develop their manuscripts.

 

I’ve worked as a magazine editor in Hong Kong, a book editor in Melbourne, and taught writing and publishing at university level. My articles have appeared in Australian and international publications, and I've published books and online work. I hold a Master of Creative Writing from the University of Canberra and am a past president of the Society of Editors (WA), an accredited editor, and former assistant editor of indigo, a Western Australian literary journal.

Writing

As a writer, I'm interested in the edges of experience – place and memory and how to evoke this through the senses. My work spans fiction, travel memoir, and short-form narrative non-fiction. I publish roughly monthly on Substack (Imagine Write Create), where I share short pieces about creativity and reflections on life.​
