About these free resources
This is a free resource for writers who have written, or are in the process of writing, their book and need professional help to get to the next stage. Once you’ve worked with a manuscript assessor and editor, and feel that you have a polished final product, you might be starting to think about how to get it into the world. There are many aspects to this and, after having completed this process a few times now (although I am still learning), I know that there are many moving parts and steps that can be confusing.
The free resources here should help you navigate the world I’ve been immersed in for more than 30 years. While in principle the industry doesn’t change quickly, there are always updates happening in the world of third-party platforms over which we have no control.
These pages will be updated as time permits. In the meantime, I have compiled an ebook of all the steps involved in independent publishing which you can receive if you subscribe to Imagine Write Create.
WHAT IS INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING?

Independent publishing (indie publishing) allows authors to retain creative control and rights over their writing project. The author is responsible for hiring editors, designers and proofreaders, and for managing production and marketing.
You as author may decide to do some of this work yourself using an ever-growing number of tools in the marketplace.
Whether or not you choose to do most of this work yourself, my advice is to always get a professional to provide a review of the project.

Modern print‑on‑demand and ebook platforms have significantly improved the quality and credibility of indie publishing. Many authors now combine traditional and independent publishing and are known as hybrid authors.
